It’s a tough business to go into! And your daughter’s social life will suffer. Just don’t tell her!
Shhh.. 🙂 Though I did say she should figure out what hours she wants to work. Then she can determine what food career to pick. Catering, restaurants, personal chef, etc. She had to interview one of the chefs downtown and he said he can work up to 16 hours a day. It’s a big commitment.
If all her interest does is improve her cooking skills, it will be worth it. Both our boys are pretty decent cooks, though neither one wants to be a chef.
She may change paths but it is wonderful to watch her come along. 🙂

We’re getting spoiled as she is getting into the habit of making us a meal on the weekends. It’s great.

Good luck to the future Master Chef! It’s wonderful that so may school’s today offer food-based courses. A far cry from the home economics courses of my day.
It’s so important! I’m grateful our kids appreciate good food and want to know the ingredients.
Great career choice. I’m just too old to make the switch…..
Yahoo had a series of short 5 minute shows about people making a switch in their 40’s, 50’s and up. I think it was called Second Chance but basically it showed you are never too old.
