About

My name is Virginia and I have been blogging several years now.  I really enjoy it and love interacting with my fellow bloggers, it’s a great community.  Both my husband and I are from England but our parents moved us stateside when we were little.  Our goal is to retire back across the pond.  In the meantime, we enjoy being in the kitchen creating fabulous dishes, being out in the garden growing our ingredients, and I enjoy things like knitting.  We are thrilled our kids like to be involved as well.  It is so important to move away from the overly processed foods and way of life.  Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear from you!

    • Hi there, thank you for nominating me! So I just have to nominate 14 bloggers? It seems on this one I don’t have to answer any questions about myself like other awards. Just want to make sure. I’m new to blogging as well so I am not sure of the process. It seems a lot of people get nominated so when do they decide on an award?

      Thanks,
      Virginia

      • Hi Virginia! I’ve interpreted this award as being something that you pass on to fellow bloggers who you’d like to recognise, and I guess the name suggests bloggers who have been supportive and good team players. The word ‘nominees’ might be misleading in that it suggests there is a final winner, when there isn’t! Hope that helps? 🙂 Sheila

  1. Hi Virginia! Thanks for visiting my blog, and I’m glad to “discover” yours. Blogging is such fun, isn’t it? I’ve found that if you turn on your “like” button, you may get even more traffic. Cheers to you and looking forward to more posts.

    • That’s strange I thought it was turned on as I was getting “likes”. I’ll have to look into it, thanks. I am new to this so figuring it out as I go. I really enjoy it. 🙂

      • Maybe it was just me…wp can be strange, or maybe they show up in the Reader, but not on the site. Since I just started following you, I’ll now be able to see you in the reader the next time you post, and I’ll look! 🙂

    • Ah found what you were talking about. People must have been liking in the tool bar. I now have a button! Thank you for pointing that out.

  2. Hello, thank you for visiting my blog, which in many ways is like yours in content – gardening, cooking and knitting – in fact for me, anything which pleases me, just three things each day.

I like the look of your blog and will be following you along the way. 🙂

  3. Funny that you’re from the UK and the first post I looked at was Mexican food. When we lived in England, I couldn’t find Mexican food anywhere 🙂

Thanks for visiting my blog. Blogging is fun, isn’t it — and a bit addicting.

    • Where in the UK did you live? My husband and I both moved over here when we were kids so we’re stateside now. We’ll be heading back at some point.

      • We lived on a working farm (livery, barley) just outside of Inkberrow in Worcestershire. It was heavenly – great place and people. There are a number of stories on my blog about my experiences there (Steamed vegetables, Crab Muffins, Victoria Sponge, etc). I still get back whenever I can.

Funny that you and your husband are both English but met here in the U.S. How did that happen?

      • Sounds lovely. 🙂 The funny bit with my husband is that our families emigrated here the same month and year and we spent the majority of our lives within 20 minutes of each other, save when I lived in the UK a bit during college. We met on Match.com of all places. 🙂

  4. Hi Virginia! I’m glad I found your blog— it covers 3 of my favorites subjects! (I’m occasionally adding cooking-related bits to my newest blog, lindyhops.wordpress.com, which is fast becoming a repository for everything I want to write about that won’t fit into my other two blogs!) Thanks so much for following me!

  5. Thank you for sharing, I’m also new to blogging, and still learning, but likes it. I’ve met so many New Friends with very Creative Ideas. Happy New Year! Be Blessed, Mtetar

  6. Virginia, thank you so much for the award nominations. I’m dragging my feet a bit, because I’m waiting to hear a decision that will change how I allocate my time. It actually has to do with knitting, but I’ll tell you all about it if it happens. If I have less time for blogging, Im not going to follow through on awards, but if nothing happens, I will honor the award and proceed with the rules!!! again, thank you very much!!!
